This Director of Infection Prevention role leads the hospital’s Infection Prevention and Control program for an about 350-bed acute care facility with an average daily census around 300+. Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, you’ll oversee Infection Prevention surveillance, data integrity, and readiness—ensuring the organization is consistently prepared for regulatory review while advancing patient safety, quality outcomes, and a strong culture of prevention.

In this position, you’ll direct end-to-end Infection Prevention operations: applying CDC/NHSN surveillance definitions, guiding HAI surveillance and analysis, and ensuring required reporting alignment with CMS, state/local agencies, and NHSN standards. You’ll also provide visible leadership across clinical teams—partnering with nursing, physicians, and ancillary departments—while managing a small team structure with 2 direct reports. The ideal leader is warm, personable, and collaborative, able to influence across disciplines and drive accountability without friction.

A Master’s degree in a relevant health-related field is required. CIC certification is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Infection Prevention/epidemiology leadership and demonstrated management experience. Strong working knowledge of NHSN standards and comfort with data collection, analysis, and reporting are essential; proficiency with common tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical programs, is expected. Licensure in a related health science field mabe required depending on your background.
