The Infection Prevention Manager oversees and implements the Infection Prevention Plan at the hospital level. This leadership position manages a comprehensive infection control program, including hospital-acquired infection surveillance, regulatory compliance, outbreak management, and employee education.

The role collaborates with hospital leadership, physicians, and staff to implement policies and performance improvement initiatives. Acting as a consultant to internal and external stakeholders, the Manager also liaises with health departments and regulatory agencies, conducts risk assessments, and supports emergency planning for infection outbreaks. This position has no direct reports and reports to the AVP of Quality.

Candidates must be a Certified Infection Preventionist (CIC) and a registered nurse (RN) with clinical experience, ideally in tertiary care, including transplant and cardiac care. A bachelor’s degree in nursing, medical technology, biology, or public health is required. Membership in APIC (Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology) is preferred, along with strong leadership abilities, expertise in infection prevention concepts, and proficiency in data reporting tools like Excel.
