This Infection Prevention RN role is responsible for leading the hospital-wide infection prevention and control program (IPC), including surveillance, data submission, implementation of control measures, and delivery of educational programs. The position plays an integral role in supporting patient safety by collaborating with multiple departments—ranging from clinical units to SPD and kitchen environments—and providing expertise in regulatory compliance, outbreak response, and best practices. With high CMS surveyor activity at present, this role offers the chance to step into a dynamic environment where increased capacity and coverage are key priorities. Reporting directly to the Director of Infection Prevention, you’ll work alongside a seasoned leader and be part of a collaborative, experienced team rather than functioning as a sole preventionist. This is a part-time role requiring 24 hours of work per week.

Ideal candidates will bring a current RN license, a passion for being out on the floor, and at least three to five years of acute care clinical experience (or two years in Infection Prevention). A bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred, and certification in Infection Control is required within two years and six months of hire. Strong knowledge of OSHA, APIC, Title 22, Joint Commission, and CDC regulations is essential, as is proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Candidates with experience in general Environment of Care rounds and familiarity with CMS survey processes will be especially well-suited for success in this role.
